Central Maine is in for another blast of winter as the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch as a "significant" winter storm is expected tomorrow (Dec. 12).

According to the National Weather Service, the winter storm watch will run from 1 a.m. through "late Tuesday night." The forecast says total snowfall could reach 5-8 inches, and travel conditions will be difficult throughout the day.

According to the National Weather Service: "low pressure will deepen along the coast of northern New England early Tuesday morning. Cold air in place will allow snow to develop and overspread the region. The heaviest snows will be over southern and central New Hampshire and portions of interior western Maine during the day Tuesday. Snow is expected to transition to sleet, freezing rain, and eventually rain for areas near the coast. This will limit total snowfall amounts there."
