A Litchfield woman gets her fourth OUI after crashing her van into trees with her child in the vehicle.

Kristy Cookson, 33 of Litchfield crashed her van Wednesday (03/25/15) into trees on Rt. 133 in Wales with her son in the vehicle, while impaired.

First responders needed a chainsaw to get to Cookson and her son after the crash.

Cookson's son was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston and was treated and released.

Cookson was taken to Central Maine Medical Center and was treated and released without police being notified because of a mix-up.

State Troopers caught up with Cookson at an Auburn apartment on Monday (03/30/15) and charged her with driving with a suspended license and aggravated operating under the influence (OUI). The charge is aggravated because her child was in the van.

Cookson has had her license suspended 13 times. This incident all happening while Cookson is on probation from an earlier incident involving a police chase through Lewiston. When that chase ended when she was pulled over, she was shot by an officer as Cookson tried to run over him.
