Now, we can get live Maine TV stations and New England sports online, and it's wicked cool. See YouTube TV is offered in your area here.

Like most Millennials, I have a deep hatred of contracts, and paying absurd monthly fees for something that just shouldn't cost as much as it does. For years growing up, I watched my parents pay $100+, or even more, for a cable package so we could watch the local news, and the occasional Sox, Pats or Bruins game. Local news is available over the air with a digital antenna, but most regular sports games aren't.

We just bought our first house this month, and we totally skipped cable. Not only do I hate sitting in front of a TV all day, we don't want to pay that much money for stuff that should be more affordable. I did get a Spectrum internet package, because we live our lives online, and to their credit... Spectrum's 100mbps internet speeds are fast and reliable at a pretty good price.

Then, this week... we discovered YouTube TV!

It's not cable, it's totally online, you don't need a box or other equipment to watch, and you can get 50+ channels totally live, including local news and New England sports. And the best part... it's watchable online, in an app on your phone, and even on devices like Chromecast and Apple TV. For just $40/month (and yes, there's a free trial period), you can watch the following networks and channels live and their programs on demand:
