Built by Amos Gerald in 1903, Casco Castle was used as a summer resort.  On a trolley line that ran from Yarmouth to Brunswick, its attractions included a 185 foot tall tower, baseball diamond, swimming areas, and even a zoo!

Unfortunately, its time was short-lived.  As cars became more popular, people had more vacation options.  They were no longer only able to go places serviced by trains or trolleys.  The number of visitors declined.

After only 11 years, the castle met it's end.  But, according to WCSH, its end was not caused by lack of business...
