UPDATE-11:45 AM

State and Augusta Police say they are looking for the two occupants of an apartment that was the scene of a homicide last night in the city, said Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland.  Detectives say they need to locate the two for questioning and to check on their well-being.

They have not been seen since Monday.  They are looking for Zina Fritze, 27, and her boyfriend, Sean McQuade, 45.  Fritze is 5’8”, 110 pounds and now has brown hair.  McQuade is 6’1”, 150 pounds and light brown hair .   Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call State Police in Augusta, 624-7076, or 911.

An autopsy began this morning on the man, whose body was found inside the couple’s fourth floor apartment on Washington St.   The man’s name is currently being withheld.

State and Augusta Police are investigating the death of a man found inside an apartment on Washington Street overnight and they are labeling the death a homicide. One man is in custody. An autopsy is scheduled at the State Medical Examiner’s Office on the dead man, whose name is being withheld. The apartment is located at 75 Washington St and police have been there throughout the night processing the scene for evidence. Under arrest and charged with murder is 25 year old Damik Davis from NY. Davis is being held at the Kennebec County Jail.

Augusta Police responded to the fourth floor apartment for a disturbance call about 8 pm. A search of the neighborhood by police, aided by a State Police dog, found Davis a short time later, who was taken into custody.

More details are expected to be released later today.
