B98.5 - Central Maine's Country

Several cases of man flu have been reported in Augusta.  If you stand up to pee...you are at risk of catching this sissy virus.  Severe symptoms include: the sniffles.  an occasional sneeze.  tickle in the throat.  a  hang nail.  fever of 98.6.  total loss of man card.  It can leave a man rendered helpless, whiny and bedridden for days.

The United Volunteers of Maine Haunted House has been a long tradition in Augusta.  I remember helping out in it when I was a teenager...and now the torch has been passed along to my kids.  They LOVE it and look forward to helping every year.  Unfortunately, there is always a shortage of volunteers.

With the 'soggy' Summer we had, wild mushrooms are on the rise.  I have HUGE ones on my yard.  They are quite fascinating to look at.  However...these mushrooms are very toxic for animals.

If your water is supplied by the Augusta Water District, they will be flushing the water mains all next week (September 24th - 28th).  How will this affect you?

The animals, especially deer, are on the move.  Especially, during dawn and dusk time hours.  We want you to stay safe and avoid a collision with your vehicle.  Here are some tips for you:

Charlotte's Legendary Lobster Pound, located in Southwest Harbor, is making national news.  Why?  Because of their new idea on how to 'humanely' cook Maine lobster.  Their suggestion?  Doping the lobster up with marijuana.

I'll admit...the idea of these tiny houses are really peaking my interest.  So much, that hubby and I are considering building one when the kids are all grown and moved out...but I hear that never happens.  However, in the midst of our dreaming...we can book a nice Maine staycation at this quaint lil home away from home.

The 3rd Annual Conquer Chiari Walk Across America is just a couple weekends away.  Help those in your community, who struggle with chiari malformation, raise awareness and fight to find a cure for this debilitating disease.

This just appalls me, on so many levels.  Apparently, Maine is inundated with Perfect Pattys'.  These Perfect Pattys', themselves, are inundated with an endless amount of time on their hands...so much time...that they have the ability to write local weatherman, Keith Carson, about his clothing attire.

WESTBROOK POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTED THAT BRIDGET KELLEY HAS BEEN FOUND AND IS HOME SAFE. According to the Westbrook Police Department, Bridget Kelley has been missing since Monday! CONTACT THE WESTBROOK POLICE DEPARTMENT OR CALL 911 IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING...

Humane Society Waterville Area is looking at having to close their doors if they can't raise a significant amount of money....and soon.  If they can't raise $250 thousand dollars in 3 months, the animal shelter on the Webb Road will have to make the tough choice to close down.
