As I’ve mentioned over the past couple of weeks we’ve been doing some spring cleaning. Yes, we cleaned the house as best we could when we moved in two years ago and last year did a decent clean, this year we wanted to get into the detail a little deeper, plus find my wedding ring.

No ring so far and we’ve done four of the seven rooms we’re going to do. On top of just wanting to clean the house and find my ring, Mom is coming down next week on the Nova Star to visit. I admit like I’m sure many of you do, we clean before out of town guests come and stay.

Like I say, no ring has been found ye,t but every room seems to have a collectible or antique of some sort. So far we’ve uncovered a one cent stamp on a post card, the Harley Davidson cards, a 30 year old full Coke bottle, which we found when we first moved in when cleaning our son Dylan’s room and now a political campaign pin.

Our latest treasure was found in the back of a closet shelf in Vikki’s room. A Johnson – Humphrey campaign pin from the Presidential run and win in 1964. This is 50 years old.

I started asking myself what this stuff is worth. Going by what I see it being sold for on eBay, the pin looks to be worth $10. Not major money but still interesting. The one cent stamp using the same criteria as the pin, is worth about $25. The Harley Davidson cards about $1 each.

I can’t wait until we go through the basement. You never know, there could be lost goodies remaining and upstairs in the storage eaves might prove to be profitable as well.

Cleaning Vikki’s room today, the dining room and kitchen along with the bathroom and then quick go through upstairs are the "must dos" before Mom comes a week from today.
