If you are planning to hit the road for the Thanksgiving holiday, you are not alone.

According to an article on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel website, AAA says that 80 million Americans will be hitting the road for the holiday.  While many of these people will be taking a flight or a train, the majority will be driving.

If you are going to be driving a significant distance to have dinner with your family (or friends), you may be dreading how much the trip is going to cost you.  On top of tolls, drinks, and snacks, the cost of gas and diesel fuel is wild these days.

If you have a larger vehicle it could take the better part of $100 to fill your vehicle completely.

We want to help you with that.  We've put together a list of places in Maine where you can find the cheapest gas.

Keep in mind that, in some cases, you are going to need to be a rewards member or a member of the club in order to get the cheapest prices.

The idea of traveling for Thanksgiving is not new.  People have been doing it for generations.  Believe it or not, 'Jingle Bells', which was written in Massachusetts in 1850, was meant as a Thanksgiving song, not a Christmas song.

While traveling may be a real pain in the butt, holidays like Thanksgiving are just not the same when you are not celebrating with your family.
