
Maine State Police Investigating Death of Woman
According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety's Shannon Moss, the Maine State Police are investigating the death of a woman in Union.
The press release explains that the woman's body was found during a search for a missing paddleboarder on Crawford Pond in Union on Thursday, July 3rd.
The press release says, in part:
During the course of the search, an adult female was located deceased. Based on the circumstances surrounding the discovery, Wardens requested the assistance of the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit Central. Detectives and Evidence Response Technicians have spent the day investigating the death. The deceased was transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.
The name of the deceased has not been released and the investigation into the woman's passing continues.
It was not made clear if the deceased woman was the missing paddleboarder that initiated the search or not.

The press release also explains that additional details about the case will be released when it is appropriate to do so.
