3 Arrested In Theft Of ATM Inside Of “Tubby’s Ice Cream” In Wayne
Three people have been arrested in connection with the theft of an ATM machine outside a local ice cream shop in Wayne.
According to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson, Shannon Moss, the Maine State Police were notified of the theft earlier this week, when someone reported that the ATM machine that usually sits inside "Tubby's Ice Cream Shop" on Main St. in Wayne, was no longer where it should be.
"Through their investigation Troopers identified and located the suspects at a house in the town of Livermore Falls. Discovered with the suspects was a significant amount of the money from inside the ATM."
With help from the Androscoggin Sheriff's Office and the Livermore Falls Police Department, State Police arrested 47-year-old Joshua Souther and 44-year-old Jason Reckards, both of Livermore Falls, and charged them with Theft.
"37-year-old Brittany Boivin of Jay was arrested on obstructing government administration and violation of conditional release. "
Souther, Reckards and Boivin were all taken to the Androscoggin County jail, while authorities found the ATM in a vacant lot.
