This company was founded by Mainers with terrible eczema.

Amber and Patrick co-founded Marin Skincare. They both suffered from eczema. While they were in grad school for Biomedical Engineering at UMaine, they worked with lobster scientists. They found a protein in lobster that can regenerate limbs and could actually help hydrate and repair skin, hence their first product, the 'lobster lotion'!

The latest release from Marin Skincare in Portland is a Campfire S’mores lip treatment, according to WMTW. Just like their lobster lotion, it's made with lobster glycoproteins, with the same healing effects. It's flying off shelves and the website.

They are working with Portland seafood company Luke’s Lobster, where the fluid used in the creams and lip treatments is removed during processing. This is stuff that would normally just go down the drain. Since launching in 2020, sales have grown by 3,900%! And they've gone from three full-time employees to seven. Plus, Luke's Lobster has had to create 10 new full-time positions to keep up with lobster juice demands!

We were astounded by the response to our Blueberry French Toast lip treatment launch last fall, which was fueled by viral video testimonials on both TikTok and Instagram. The lip treatments have helped us expand further into the beauty market and we wanted our next scent to also be inspired by Maine, which is why we chose Campfire S’mores for this new launch.
