Mike Rowe, who you may know from his Dirty Jobs TV show, has been all over the world.  Not only because of the TV show, but he does all kinds of events, movies, voice over work, he does it all.

It was surprising to know that Mike Rowe told me that the most honest warning signs in the USA are on Mount Washington in New Hampshire.

Here's what he had to say:

"As I was climbing up, (Mount Washington) I was just so taken by the warning signs, which I think are maybe the most honest warning signs, not just in New England, but the whole country.

You know, it's like, 'Hey be careful, the weather here is very unpredictable.'  And then 200 yards later it's like, 'So you're still walking.  Here's the deal.  It's going to be really cold up there, even if it's really warm right now.  You should reconsider.'  And then a few hundred yards later there's another sign that says, 'Hey, Genius, people have died here in the last 10 years.  What are you doing?'"

Mike continued to say, "I mean, it was kinda grim, but the warning signs on Mount Washington is the first thing I think of when I think of New England and your state. Because they were both funny, irreverent and blisteringly honest, authentic. I love that."

Be Prepared Before You Decide to Hike Mount Washington

The signs are there for a reason.  People really have died on that mountain of hypothermia, heart attack and falling.  You should be careful.

If you're thinking of climbing Mount Washington, heed the warning signs and be prepared.  Nothing makes people from New Hampshire roll their eyes more than a hiker who is stranded on the Mountain, doesn't do their homework and doesn't read the signs.

Have you ever climbed Mount Washington?
