Most people know Mike Rowe from his TV show, Dirty Jobs.

Mike Rowe Coming to New Hampshire

The 'why' is the biggest and most important question.

Anyone who has ever seen Dirty Jobs knows that Mike isn't afraid of work.  He has scoured the entire country looking for jobs for his TV show(s), all of which would be classified as 'blue collar.'

On Mike's website, mikeroweworks.org, he said, "America is lending money it doesn't have to kids who can’t pay it back to train them for jobs that no longer exist. That’s nuts.”

I spoke with the founder of Bring Back the Trades, Steve Turner, who told me that the organization is not anti-college in any way, but people need to know that there are other opportunities that can provide an incredibly successful career.

Steve's organization provides scholarship funding for people who are interested in the trades.

The event on November 15th in Concord will be a motivator not only for the people who may want to enter the field, but also to educate the parents/family about what a great choice it would be.  There is profit sharing, 401K, etc.

Seriously, you should see my plumber's house.

At the event in Concord, there will be many, many trades on location to provide more information for people who are interested in knowing more and maybe apply for a job.

Anyone who owns a home knows that a trade company who knows what their doing, shows up on time, etc., etc., is worth their weight in gold.  Gold is what the tradespeople will get for a job well done.

Mike Rowe has been a favorite of mine for a while now.  My friend Shirley and I are going to be there.  Maybe we'll see you too?

One last bit of complete candor:  I would go to any event that features Mike Rowe.  This just happens to be one that I really like.  Seriously, if I had to eat tripe soup or liver without any onions to gain admission, I'd be there.  Shirley would too.

What trade would you be interested in?
