Leonardo DiCaprio is many things: a great actor, a philanthropist, a member of the famous P—y Posse, a quick draw with a water gun…and apparently an expert on Russian history. The actor has portrayed many very flawed characters based on very flawed real-life men, but there’s one man he hasn’t played yet: Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Perhaps inspired by The Revenant co-star Tom Hardy’s attempt to wrestle with a Russian accent in Child 44, DiCaprio has his sights set on portraying Putin in a hypothetical biopic. In an interview with German publication Welt am Sonntag (translated by The Guardian), DiCaprio says Putin is “very, very, very interesting,” adding, “I would love to play him.” The actor went on to describe his fascination with Russian history, explaining, “I think there should be more films about Russian history because it has many stories worthy of Shakespeare.”

DiCaprio said that “Lenin would also be an interesting role,” referring to the Russian revolutionary and politician who led the October Revolution of 1917. But that’s not all. The actor says, “I would like also to star as Rasputin.” That’s an ambitious trio of notorious men, and if there are any screenwriters out there with an affinity for Russian history and designs to cast Leonardo DiCaprio in a movie, now’s your chance.

For his part, Putin described DiCaprio as a “real man” back in 2010, and speaking of which…Vanity Fair has pointed out this clip from Ellen in which DiCaprio shows off his Russian accent while sharing an anecdote about an emergency plane landing on his way to meet Putin back in 2010:
