On Friday morning, Lewiston Police Department officers came to the aid of a man carrying his own severed arm.

According to WMTW, the man, who was in medical distress, was located by police on Maple Street.  The man was given aid on the scene and taken to a nearby hospital.  His identity has not been released.

It is believed the accident happened at a nearby retail business.  OSHA is investigating.
