Even though Maine’s aggravated assaults and drug crimes are higher, according to the Maine Department of Public Safety the crime rate in Maine has fallen by 9.1%! This is the largest drop in the state's crime rate in about two decades.
According to the Social Security Administration the top baby names for 2013 are Noah and Sophia. Sophia continues the reign for girls’ names for the third year in a row and Noah beats out the #1 boys' name for the past 14 years, Jacob.

It's time for the good old end of the year review. 2013 is all done for the exception of a few fleeting hour that remain. Next year, will hopefully be as good if not even better as this one. So looking back on 2013, it was quite a year. Here are some of the highlights of 2013 from my life.

Well people, summer is officially over and we can now truly begin to look ahead to leaf peeping, Halloween, school football and band competitions and the Red Sox in post season play. What are your summer highlights?
