Putting this list together confirmed two things: time goes by way too fast, and Portland had (and still has) a wide variety of bands coming through our city.

In our fast-paced, ever-changing world, it's always fun to take a trip down memory lane and see what mattered most to us Mainers.

Route 202, is a cross-state road that runs through Maine, and the piece from Auburn to Augusta is a stretch I take everyday. It has seen its worst year in a long while for fatalities in 2014.

In news that probably surprises no one, it looks like Taylor Swift's massively successful '1989,' is slated to beat out Disney's 'Frozen' soundtrack for the top selling album of 2014.

Musician and YouTuber Andrew Huang does an awesome job playing and singing the biggest pop hits of 2014. How he does it is the real amazing part. All the instruments he uses are household items.

This is the best thing I've seen all year... okay, it's been less than a day, but this is awesome.

I know there are still 10 days until the end of the year but it being so close I thought I'd talk about the year in review for me personally and for us as a family. It was a year of major ups and downs. All of the "downs" coming in the first few months but after March, things improved and the year really got better like a switch had been flipped in the summer.

It's that time that we start to look back at the bygone year and what a year it was in pop music. Here we go, from Fancy to Frozen, from Katy to Taylor. It was a big year for some great songs and nobody is better at putting together a mashup to help us re-live the biggest hits, than DJ Earworm.

If you live along a river you know how easy your house can get flooded. I still hear stories about the Androscoggin River flood of 1987. Thankfully this time it wasn’t nearly as bad. More good news is that the river has crested and is falling back within its banks.
