We couldn't have asked for a better weekend, weather wise. Sunday (July 9) was my anniversary and my lovely bride, Jeana, and I decided to head to Rangeley to celebrate.

We sure had fun with Jodi and Gary talking about the 175th anniversary of the town of Smithfield! The celebration is this weekend and is packed with lots of food, a parade, car show, concert and more!

On April 26th, 1986, a disaster so intense happened at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in the Ukraine, that it turned the once thriving city into a ghost town. 29 years later, it remains virtually uninhabited.

I was going through the things that happened on this date and this came up; on January 6th, 1945 former President George H.W. Bush and Barbara were married. The two part-time Maine residents are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary today.

I made a call to my daughter Michelle this morning. We spoke, almost to the minute, on the day she was born 24 years earlier.

Today 13 years ago, I married you for better or worse, for sickness and health, until death do us part. Together we have three amazing children who are doing well in school, and in all other aspects, a lot in part to you. I know at times I don’t seem to appreciate all you do but I would be lost without you. Yes, I really do appreciate all you do, whether it's for our kids or me.

When I'm headed up to Greenville for the day or for a week, I can't wait to crest Indian Hill for two reasons. The first one is, it offers the first, sensational look at Moosehead Lake. Secondly, it means your chance to stop and shop for, well, everything, at the Indian Hill Trading Post!

It was just after 8am on November 24th 1990.  My precious baby girl, Emily....no, wait....Michelle, was born.  We agreed on Michelle over Emily on our way to the hospital that morning.  Compared to Matt's birth, a tad more than three years before that (18 hours of labor), this one was quick!

Today it's been 12 years at the Moose!!! I remember the day August 21, 2000 like it was yesterday. Then I realize it wasn't by looking in the mirror.
