Thanks to your amazing support of Special Olympics Maine, we were able to raise close to $7000.00 with our annual Request-a-thon. I agreed if we hit $5000.00, I would shave my beard.... Today was the day!

Well, this probably won't come as any surprise to Renee, but Jonny's and my beards may be as dirty as a toilet.

Here's a little something to get you psyched for Game 1 of the World Series. It's a special Red Sox edition of 'This Beard Came Here To Party' by Tim Montana and The Shrednecks featuring Billy F. Gibbons of ZZ Top.

As most in the area, I'm happy that the Red Sox won their series against Tampa in the ALDS, but this does lead into a problem. I'm attempting a playoff beard. I haven't shaved since the wild card play-in games. Normally I shave every three or four days out of laziness and to prevent skin irritation, but here's the thing, I've never really tried a real beard. Now I need your help.

Over the weekend we didn't really do much. We played a family game of Skip-Bo or two, watched a bit of TV and did a few errands. To be quite honest it was just a lazy weekend. We haven't had one in awhile which was nice, basically nothing except Justin's basketball game was scheduled. One thing I didn't do and hadn't for a few days was shave.

If there's one thing that sucks about sports, it's lockouts. Lockouts mean no games on TV, no dude time, and a greater chance we'll have to spend time with our women learning how to cook cheese fondue and make potpourri centerpieces. That's why we've been pretty annoyed about this whole NHL lockout.
