Hayley Blowers took her own life when she was just 16-years-old. Her loss devastated her family and friends but, as a result, rather than simply mourn the loss of this beautiful soul, Rainy, her mom, along with a great team of supporters, founded "Hayley's Hope."

Through the month of October, students and staff at KVCC engaged in a collection drive to acquire winter hats and mittens which will be donated to both the Waterville Homeless Shelter and the Trinity Men's Shelter. To cap off the end of the drive, KVCC will be hosting a Benefit Concert featuring "Yellow Brick Road: Tribute to Elton John," this Saturday night...

It's sure to be a good time at Cony High School's Alumni Field on Saturday with a fun day/benefit for the Lucas Family. Ben Lucas, star football player of the state class A champion Cony Rams, played for the team and the community on that field. On Saturday, the team and community will come out for his family, specifically, his mom Allison, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

'Love for the Locals' is a monthly event at Lisa's Restaurant & Catering, Bangor Street, Augusta. This month you can support Kristina Goranson and Zachary Marcotte. A month ago they were involved in a head on motorcycle accident due to the negligence and recklessness of another driver.

'Amy Buxton's Underdog Jog Memorial 5K Run/Walk' is an annual event in remembrance of Amy Buxton. She dedicated her life to saving dogs and helping her local community. Her friends and family are dedicated to continuing to support her passions through this annual event.

'The Leroy Smith Benefit Bash and Memorial Jam' will be Sunday, May 18, 2pm - 6pm at the Wharf, 132 Water St. in Hallowell. The band 'Working Class,' which once included Leroy Smith II, will play during the memorial jam. All other musicians are encouraged to play, as well...

Kaitlyn Parker is 4 and she needs a new heart valve. The surgery is scheduled for may and, as you can imagine, there will be a lot of out of pocket expenses for the family. That's why we'd like to see you come have a chicken or haddock snack at the Red Barn today between 4 and 6.

It's time again to 'March for Babies' and support the March of Dimes. When you walk, you give hope to the more than half a million babies born too soon each year. The money you raise supports programs in your community that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies and it funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten our babies.

Have some fun and help a great cause on Saturday (Aug 10) at the '2nd Annual Cancer Hospice Fundraiser' at the Horseshoe Campground in New Portland. There will be a bake sale, bean hole bean supper and live entertainment. The event supports local hospice efforts.
