When I walked into the Augusta Civic Center lobby yesterday, I was greeted by a smiling and familiar face. Becky from the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine (SAM) was checking attendees into the 35th Maine Sportsman's Show, which runs today (Saturday, 9-7) and tomorrow (10-4).

Well, the nights have been pretty chilly since early/mid August and now, although I love the crisp weather, I don't like what it ushers in. I don't like putting away and winterizing the boat and camper. I used the boat four times and didn't spend a single night in the camper. Soon, they'll both covered in a blanket of snow and ice....for almost 9 months! YIKES! That's a long freakin' time! Re

This is the day I look forward to all winter long. It's the day I am reunited with my 20 feet of motorized fiberglass. With a little luck and an extra propeller or two, it should be a great season!
