The elementary school choir at Public School 22 in Staten Island, NY, recently dedicated a heart-felt performance of Martina McBride’s cancer survivor anthem, 'I’m Gonna Love You Through It.' They sang in honor of teacher Adriana Lopez, who is battling cancer.

It was quite amazing to see many of the Winthrop High School students raising money for cancer research in their first 'Rambler Relay For Life'.

Ashley Bridges, engaged and pregnant, learned she had cancer. She was told that, in order to receive the life-saving chemotherapy that she needed, her pregnancy would need to be terminated. Without hesitation, she said no. Now, as her children get ready to go on without her, they have a dad, Ashley's husband and the love of her life.

I had to wait a little while to write this post, after discovering this video. I'm still sniffling, but here goes. This is probably the most emotional and important video I have seen in a long time.

I've been debating whether or not I should write this post. I did share on my Instagram, without even thinking, because that's what I do. After, I thought, maybe I should take the post down. I always try and stay somewhat positive on social media, but I do freely share my life. Heck, really all I want to do is make people laugh, and this is no laughing matter.

I've known Scott (Scotty) MacMaster for many years. From disc-jockey at Upstairs/Downstairs in Augusta in our younger days to Richmond's Chief of Police today. He, like all of us, has faced his ups and downs but now, he faces the biggest challenge of his life...taking care of the family as his wife, Cyndi, battles cancer.

What passionate, wonderful people Jodie and Michelle are. The walk is dedicated to Brian Michonski, Jodie's brother-in-law, who passed from the disease last year. Cancer Survivors Day is this Saturday (the 13th) starting at 1 at The Harlold Alfond Center for Cancer Care on the Old Belgrade Road in Augusta.

  OK. It has been almost a year of tests and treatments and cancer stuff. WELL, we just learned that Patrick, my boyfriend, is now CANCER FREE!  He is not cured. Only a bone marrow transplant would do that, but with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma treatment can kick it back and keep it in check. SO, to the Harold Alfond Center For Cancer Care staff, thank you for all you did for Patrick and for me. Perfect
