This is first time this has ever happened to me while at home without the wife. At about 9:15 this morning the phone rings, I see it says, "City of Auburn" on the caller ID and I pick up thinking one of my boys forgot something at school but no it was the Auburn Middle School nurse telling me that Justin has a fever with a headache and sore throat.
I think today's a great day to bring back this video nugget from the Moose Morning Show.
The last cold spell like the one we're currently experiencing was just a couple years ago. I remember that a listener called and told us about an experiment their child had tried. They said that if you throw hot water in the air it would turn to snow. So, we thought, "What the heck. Let's try it!"
The Augusta Community Warming Center is open every day until March 31, 2015, from 9am to 4pm. Supported by the United Way of Kennebec Valley, the 'Warming Center' will be open from 9am to 4pm for those seeking a warm and safe escape from the cold.

When I walked into the radio station this morning, I expected heat after all the sounding we did on and off the air about our chilly climate. I was surprised to find out the temp, which had been 62 yesterday morning, is 60 today!
If your core body temperature gets too low, you will freeze to death! Well, good morning! Actually, when the temps dip as low as they are, you really need to dress as though you were going to be stuck outside for awhile because, if that warm car suddenly dies on a deserted road, it won't take long to reach outside temps. This video takes layering to an extreme but safe level. It also explains how
Well, the nights have been pretty chilly since early/mid August and now, although I love the crisp weather, I don't like what it ushers in. I don't like putting away and winterizing the boat and camper. I used the boat four times and didn't spend a single night in the camper. Soon, they'll both covered in a blanket of snow and ice....for almost 9 months! YIKES! That's a long freakin' time!
