I remember my kids getting very upset when they were little and I shaved my beard. One time, I had to take my daughter in the bathroom with me and sit her on the counter so she could watch me shave.

As I sit here at home on this Memorial Day, thinking about the day ahead, I find myself going through some of my Dad's old pictures. My father was in the Army for over 20 years and almost never shared his experiences with us. It's amazing what I learn about him every time I stare at some of these photos...

When my kids were young I would play all kinds of games, including singing to them to get them to eat. I had numerous baby food incidents, none more memorable than the jar of baby "meat food" that exploded in my microwave. I believe there are still remnants of that occasion on our ceiling.
