The Old Farmer's Almanac is calling for a chilling winter season for Mainers. Here's what it had to say.

The annual Farmers' Almanac thinks you should circle three dates on the calendar, as they predict when major storms will hit Maine and New Hampshire.

Winter is coming ladies and gentleman, and here's is your prediction for the first plowable snowfall in Maine.

This is good news or bad news, depending on how you've enjoyed New England's sweaty summer.

The Farmers' Almanac is the source of so much useful information and when it comes to winter weather tips, they do not dissapoint

BREAKING NEWS! This long, hot summer will be followed by a long, cold winter! (Yes, seriously!)

Peter Geiger, our ole pal, stopped by to give us a preview of the Farmers' Almanac (of which he is the chief editor) and get us ready for an brutal winter!

The wrap on my 2016 Farmers' Almanac this year reads: "Snownado 2, Winter Deja Vu?" At least there's a question mark at the end which, to my, signifies that there is some question in the mind of the Almanac's prognosticator, identified only as "Caleb Weatherbee."

Well, it's 2 for 2...looks like it's going to be a frigid winter. Over the weekend we found out the Old Farmer's Almanac was predicting a 'super cold' winter. Now, the Farmers' Almanac has us looking forward to a bitter cold winter.

DID you see the moon?? It is a big plump full moon. To be all official, it will be full on full moon at 4:28am Tuesday December 17th.  This moon is call the Full Cold Moon or the Long Nights Moon, both good names for the December full moon.

The 2013 Farmers' Almanac came out last week and the weather looks cold and snowy for this winter.  But the Almanac is so much more than that!  Editor Peter Geiger of Lewiston, our yearly Halloween guest, knows more than anyone that many people, not just old-timers, rely on the Almanac for everything from planting crops to planning weddings!
