All states require a license plate to be displayed on the back of your car. But is it illegal to drive around without one on the front of your vehicle in Maine?
I was talking with a friend of mine yesterday who works for the Augusta Police Department and was asking about police policy on cell phone use in vehicles. I recently heard that someone got pulled over looking at their phone at the Bangor Street/North Belfast Avenue stop light. That person got a $300 fine! So, here's the deal.
This is so absurd it'll make you laugh...but it is absolutely true. This little English boy didn't show up at another kid's birthday party and was fined by the other kids mother. She's even threatened to take the dad to small claims court if he doesn't pay up!
Last year in Maine there were more than 3,000 crashes and 12 deaths related to distracted driving. There is too much going on in vehicles. Originally, cars were used to get from here to there...no radios, no fast food and, certainly, no phones. There were crashes THEN!
