Peter Geiger is a good man! He's the editor of the Farmers' Almanac, a Philomath (lover of learning) and a very intelligent and kind individual. Oh, and in case you didn't know, he also LOVES Halloween!

Geiger of Lewiston plans on laying off more than 100 factory employees and ending the manufacturing side of its' business. The 135 year old company made the announcement Tuesday (Jan. 22) saying it's one of the largest layoffs in the company's history.

The 2013 Farmers' Almanac came out last week and the weather looks cold and snowy for this winter.  But the Almanac is so much more than that!  Editor Peter Geiger of Lewiston, our yearly Halloween guest, knows more than anyone that many people, not just old-timers, rely on the Almanac for everything from planting crops to planning weddings!
