Ellen Wells is a great lady. Always smiling. Always happy. Always a pleasure to see. The good news is, you can see her Saturday at the Quarry Road Recreation Area with Inland Hospital from 10-1. It's their third Family Fun Day and it promises to be a GREAT time for everyone in attendance! There are great activities, prizes and more!

I have a list of the 11 most dangerous sports your child can play. Some of these sports may be considered no-brainers, but others you may find interesting. The information was compiled from kids going to the ER due to injury playing these sports. To be quite honest, a few of the sports on the list you could consider to be less sports and more like activities.

That's the question I remember asking my girlfriend, Tammy, as I dropped her off at her job at Robinson's Nursing Home in Gardiner on Saturday morning, 6/21/80, the first day of summer and a couple weeks after I had graduated high school. Back in February, I had a hernia repair and I received a survey to fill out a month or so ago. I never did finish it and mail it in, so guess what, I got another one in the mail to fill out.

I went to Inland Hospital to deliver Subway lunch to Waterville Surgical Associates. Danielle, Tricia, Amber and the gang had entered the Midweek Lunch Bunch and won! When I got there, was I ever surprised!

Maine General CEO, Chuck Hays, gave the Moose crew a tour through the new hospital today. Unvelievable! From the beautiful outdoor gardens and walkways (to be used for therapy) to the sofas that fold out into beds so family members can stay with sick loved ones, this place is magnificent! Too bad that when you go there you're more than likely too sick to fully enjoy the amenities!

On Monday, I was finishing things up at the Moose so I could meet up with my wife and get ready for my mother-in-law's afternoon wake. She had passed away the week before and everyone felt suddenly lost without "Ma" being there, even though her passing was no surprise. As I was doing my "finishing up" work, I got a call from my sister, Bonnie....

The new Maine General Hospital has a new name for the new regional hospital. It will be called the ‘Alfond Center for Health.’ The new name was decided recently by the board of Maine General Health. They wanted to recognize the overall generosity of the Alfond family and foundation.

Augusta East Redevelopment Corporation, headed by developer Kevin Mattson, has purchased the current Maine General Medical Center property on Augusta's east side for $2.5 million. That's a wicked lotta dollars, huh?
