Orange is the New Black

Lest you think Piper was ever getting out of prison, Netflix has added three more terms to her sentence. That’s right, Orange is the New Black has been renewed for three more seasons, locking down the ladies of Litchfield through 2019 with Seasons 5, 6 and 7.

Swat teams. Power suits. The trailer for season 4 of 'Orange Is the New Black' doesn't reveal much, but it does pique our interest.

As expected, there’s lots of big news coming from Netflix ahead of their panel at TCA ’16, and in addition to finally renewing Marvel’s Jessica Jones for Season 2, the streaming service has set a return date for Orange Is the New Black Season 4. We’re sure to learn more about the coming season once the panel commences, but expect our return to Litchfield to resolve a few of those lingering cliffhangers.

Netflix has made no secret of how secret they keep any sort of “ratings” data for their original programming, a constant source of frustration to networks still under the Nielsen model, itself no longer a valid measurement of a given show’s audience. Now, NBC claims to have gotten a bit of payback, utilizing some unique approaches to measure Netflix’s overall viewers, and suggesting it on par with broadcast.

It’s that time of the year, when pop culture websites and critics publish their annual Best Of lists and we heap praise on the best and most beloved movies and TV shows of the year. But what about the average moviegoer and TV-viewer? That’s where Facebook comes in. The social media site has released their top 10 movies and top 10 TV shows of the year, based on the most discussed titled of 2014. While some are fairly obvious, the lists might surprise you and inspire you to contemplate the overlap between what’s popular and what’s actually good.

Those who have finished binging their way through 'Orange is the New Black' season 2 by now (and if you haven't, get on it) were dismayed to find that some of their favorite characters only put in limited appearances. And while we've overwhelmingly heard of Litchfield ladies upped to series regular, it seems at least one cast member present from the beginning may only put in a minor appearance, if any.
