As you may have noticed I've taken the week off. It's part vacation, and partly to make sure things go smoothly while work is being done at the house.

Alright, the last time I held the staff ‘Pro Football Pick ‘Em’ trophy was during week three. I intend to get it back. I mean look what has happened to the trophy. It has gone Mickey Mouse.

Taylor Reynolds has been playing pool since she was a little kid. It sure didn't hurt having your parents own T.J.'s Classic Billiards in Waterville. She's been winning pool competitions for years.

Well, that was short lived. I held the trophy for most games correctly picked in our Pro Football Pick ‘Em pool at work for week 3 getting 13 games correct. In week 4, I didn’t fare so well. It’s time to reclaim my rank as weekly champ.

Yesterday David, Pam, Ray and Diane Turgeon came over to my house. They're my in laws and their visit, while always welcome, was for a purpose. They were there to take down some trees that trouble me every year by dropping endless amounts of leaves and acorns into the pool. Not this year!

I knew when I looked outside and saw that the snow had melted away from the top of the pool. Something was wrong. The water, or ice, should have been about level with the top, given all the rain and snow we've had. It was not. I cringed and then investigated.

Our golden retriever, Brady, is getting up there in age...and I'm getting softer. I have never allowed our dogs to get in our pool. They would sneak in periodically, but then get in trouble for doing it. This summer is different.

So, I'm sharing this post for a few reasons. First and foremost, I love to share stories that involve Evan (I know, I'm way too young to be a grandfather..I get that all the time. No, really, all the time! Oh, and I'm delusional).

If you've been following the old swimming pool saga on the Moose Morning Show, you know I've been bugging Jon to come help me with my pool. It started after my back surgery. I was unable to work on our pool, which I love to do every year...

Yippee!! We've decided to go green but, unfortunately, it's all in our swimming pool!
