AAA has reported that the rain and freezing temps in January are already contributing to an earlier start to pothole season. But will the pothole problem be worse than 2023?
OK, I have a list! But the Maine Better Transportation Association wants to hear from you on the where the worst roads are located. And what better time than pothole season to ask.
I was so distressed about the horrible shape of Mt. Vernon Avenue in Augusta, which is one of the several horrible roads that lead to major parts of the city, that I wrote an (almost) original song about it!
It’s winter, and with the freezing and thawing comes potholes, frost heaves, divots, etc. Maybe it’s just me, but the roads seem to be worse than years gone by. The average car repair bill due to bad roads is $250 a year! What roads do you think are in desperate need of repaving or at the least repair?
