We welcomed, for the first time on the Moose Morning Show, the two new lieutenants from the Salvation Army Capital Region, Joel and Kama Lyle. They are beginning to accept applications for Thanksgiving, this week.

It feels like Christmas when we start working with the Salvation Army. Add to it, the season's first measurable snowfall and, well, it's beginning to look a lot.....you get the point.

It is that time of the year where one or two hours can make a world of difference. Ringing the bell for the Salvation Army in Augusta and Waterville.

Governor Paul LePage today (Nov. 14) will help kick off the Salvation Army's 'Annual Christmas Kettle' campaign at a brief ceremony at the Statehouse in Augusta at 9:00 a.m.

I knew this would be happening this year, but it still makes me very sad. Captains Matt and Wendy Morrison from the Augusta Salvation Army are being reassigned. They are headed to Altoona, PA.

We’re in a brutal cold spell, at least through this week anyway. I’ve seen two Facebook status updates from people saying something to the effect of, "I hope we don’t run out of oil." Not sure if it's because of their cash flow or not, but it does make me think to at least help direct those who are going without oil, or are challenged with heating costs, to the right place.

The Augusta Salvation Army is doing distribution this week and for the food baskets they need meat. They have been looking for hams and turkeys. The type of thing you would buy as the center piece of your holiday meal. Simply by stopping by the grocery store, picking up something fitting and dropping it off to them you can really help out.

As I sat with Matthew Morrison from the Augusta chapter of the Salvation Army today at Ruby Tuesday, I was very pleased at the friendliness of the staff and patrons alike.  Shelby Potter who served us our food at the bar was good company throughout our broadcast...

I just got back from doing a live broadcast at Red Robin at the Marketplace at Augusta. First I want to thank the staff for setting me up with fries and soda while I was there. You guys are totally awesome. We were there for the Augusta Salvation Army Angel Tree campaign.

The Salvation Army kicked off its annual Red Kettle Campaign that raises money for the needy during the holiday season. A Salvation Army brass ensemble played holiday carols at Monday’s kick-off celebration at the State House.
