When the 2016 Oscar nominations were announced nearly two weeks ago, the response to the overwhelmingly white line-up of talent proved instantly controversial. Film fans and industry veterans alike gathered around the #OscarsSoWhite hashtag to make their voices heard, especially decrying how films starring black actors and directed by black filmmakers — like Creed and Straight Outta Compton — somehow managed to only receive nominations for the white people involved in making them. With material this ripe, of course SNL was going to take a swipe at the Academy Awards this week.
While I don't agree with everything Chris Rock says, I still laugh because he is funny! That's comedy. You don't have to agree to laugh. That's what bothers me about people who go politically ballistic whenever something is said or posted for obvious humor. Hey...roll with it. Take it for what it is!

The U.S. Postal Service announced a few weeks ago that they were cancelling their Saturday delivery service. Apparently, the USPS doesn’t have the authority to make that decision. This doesn't mean Saturday mail delivery will continue past the phase-out date but it does mean that the decision to cut Saturday delivery could be reversed.
Members of Maine’s congressional delegation are not that thrilled with the U.S. Postal Service’s idea to cut out Saturday mail delivery. They feel it would hurt rural communities and Maine is mostly a rural state.
