There are two events this week surrounding food and the hungry. The first one is on Friday, May 8th. The Good Shepherd Food Bank's food truck will be giving out things like bread, produce and canned goods beginning at 10am at the former Hannaford location on Willow Street in Augusta. The event will be over at noon or when the food supply is depleted.

‘Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive’ takes place in central Maine and just about everywhere (May 10) this Saturday. Every second Saturday in May, letter carriers across America collect non-perishable item in the ‘Stamp Out Hunger National Food Drive’, the largest one-day food drive in the nation.
