Thin Ice

Rescuers were called to the scene Sunday afternoon after reports of an ATV and a rider had broken through the ice and fallen into the water.

As a parent it's one of the worst things you could possibly imagine. Your young child falling through a section of thin ice into the frigid waters below.

Check out this video by Emily Gammon Bodemer that shows the moments several snowmobiles passed by a small fishing boat that was out trolling on Moosehead lake.

They were able to locate his tracks on Moosehead Lake and follow them back near the mouth of the Moose River, a spot infamous for its unstable and often thin ice.
