Governor LePage, in his weekly address, pointed to welfare fraud examples like the use of Maine ebt cards at tobacco and alcohol stores and even at a liquor store in New Hampshire. Fact is, there is fraud going on. The question is, how do we stop it from happening? I think random drug tests, though not nearly the complete answer, would help.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is at it again trying to make his city healthier. First it was creating laws about large sodas, now he wants tobacco to be out of sight in stores throughout the 'Big Apple.' I guess a study shows that kids who don't see cigarette displays are less likely to smoke.
As many of you know I quit smoking. It will be 10 weeks tomorrow. Cravings are minor but the reminders of smoking those Marlboros are everywhere. Are we at a place yet where we can have a ban on logo pricing outside convenience stores?
