His name is Kale Poland, an athlete from Turner, Maine. At 29 years old, he is not just attempting the Ironman competition, but a much more grueling feat, The World Cup Ultra-Triathlon in Mexico starting this weekend. The Ultra-Triathlon is a 10 day event which includes a 24 mile swim, a bike ride of over 1,100 miles and a run of 261 miles. That is the Ironman times 10. To make it even tougher, he will only get 2 hours of sleep a night.
