Western Avenue Bridge in Waterville Will Be Closed Through the End of August
Summer is a time of beaches, time off from school and road work. One particular traffic alert this summer is the reconstruction of the Western Avenue Bridge in Waterville.
Ted Talbot, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Transportation, says the bridge is old and is need of replacement.
The bridge will be closed starting June 16, 2015 through the end of August. The contractor doing the rebuild is Stetson and Watson.
A detour will be set up to go from First Rangeway to Mayflower Hill, then Pleasant St. back to Western Ave.
