Yesterday (Jan 8), the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) decided on Boston as the U.S. city to bid for the 2024 Summer Games. Boston has not won the bid to host the Olympics yet, but they are in the running. The final announcement will be in 2017.

Would you like to see the Olympics in Boston?

One positive would be the economic boom brought to New England, not just for those two weeks in August, but for all of the construction that would bring, theoretically, thousands of jobs, albeit temporary. However, work is work.

The other positive, obviously, would be having Boston and New England in the International spotlight. If you could get a ticket to an event, you probably wouldn't mind the crazy traffic.

I can see this through rose colored glasses from my little white house in Auburn, Maine, but I'm curious about what Bostonians think.

Boston has just moved through the first elimination process. Beantown is still up against Rome, Hamburg and few other cites before the final host city election.
