What the Heck is ASMR?

ASMR has exploded in popularity in recent years with thousands of YouTube accounts dedicated to it.

ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. This refers to the tingly feeling one may feel when hearing particularly satisfying sounds and can vary from person to person.

For example, one may find mouth sounds such as tongue clicking or chewing to be incredibly satisfying while another can find it absolutely atrocious.

ASMR response isn't sexual but is often referred to as a braingasm due to the tingling sensation and relaxation that comes from hearing the sounds.

Some use ASMR simply for background or white noise.

ASMR on I-295

If you find it particularly easy to sleep while as a passenger in the car one YouTuber has the perfect ASMR video for you.

Tyson Gates makes ASMR content from behind the wheel and recently he was traveling southbound on I-295. The video was shot at night so it was particularly quiet without obnoxious traffic noise. Just the sounds of the road and the occasional blinker.

What makes his content extra unique is that the audio is binaural meaning it's more realistic to the listener and recorded with two microphones to pick up sounds as one would with two ears.

Binaural content is best enjoyed with headphones so if you need some relaxation this video may be perfect for you and your Air Pods. Heck, if your kid is a car sleeper maybe throw this on surround sound while they're in a rocker.
