Brunswick Company Expands as Maine Data Center Growth Heats Up
A Brunswick company is growing in a big way as demand for data center construction continues to rise across the country.
According to WGME, STARC officially celebrated the grand opening of its new facility at Brunswick Landing on Tuesday. The company makes temporary wall systems used in places like data centers, healthcare facilities, and other commercial operations.
And with data centers expanding nationwide, STARC says the timing of the expansion couldn’t be much better.
The new Brunswick Landing facility is more than 100,000 square feet, and the company says it will more than double its ability to meet demand across the country.
STARC VP of Manufacturing David LaFlamme told WGME the company moved out of a much smaller 45,000-square-foot space, giving them the room they need to become more efficient, add automation, and continue growing.
The new facility took about a year to build and will include robotics as part of the production process.
The expansion comes as Maine has recently given the green light to more data center development, making STARC’s growth especially timely.
So while “temporary walls for data centers” may not sound like the flashiest headline at first, this is the kind of behind-the-scenes Maine manufacturing story that could play a role in a much bigger national tech boom.
