President-Elect Donald Trump has announced his intention to nominate Linda McMahon, former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment as the administrator of the Small Business Administration, a cabinet-level position.

McMahon, who is married to current WWE head Vince McMahon, had run for the US Senate in Connecticut on two previous occasions.

According to an AP story in the Boston Globe, McMahon said she would be proud to lead a team that will ‘‘promote our country’s small businesses and help them grow and thrive.’’

While she has stepped back from an active role in WWE in the last several years, McMahon previously played an active role as both an executive and an on-camera personality for the wrestling organization.
