Hannaford To Charge For Paper Bags At Some Locations

According to WMTW, on Monday, some Hannaford locations will begin charging a five cent fee on paper bags.

Only the Belfast, Brunswick, Kennebunk, Saco, and York locations will participate.  Those five towns recently enacted a ban on plastic bags.

The overall goal of the charge is to encourage people to reusable shopping bags.
