There are funny people... and then there's T.J. Miller.

I've interviewed a lot of comedians over the years, but I can honestly say I've never laughed as hard during an interview as I did talking with him.

Within seconds, he had me completely off the rails, and I realized pretty quickly why no two of his stand-up shows are ever the same.

That's good news for Maine because T.J. is bringing his "Gentle Giant" Tour to Empire Comedy Club in Portland for five shows from July 16-18.

If you've seen him in Silicon Valley, Deadpool, Big Hero 6, How to Train Your Dragon, or even heard his unmistakable voice in The Emoji Movie, you already know his brand of comedy is delightfully beautiful in every way.

His live shows have that energy that's unmistakable because he's a master improviser.

The best part is that all of his comedy shows are different, he'll tend to wander off on a tangent, talk to the audience, and somehow end up somewhere even funnier than where he started.

Like the moment he had in Cargo Pants a live comedy show he did, check it out below.

Those are the moments that make TJ better than the rest.

His act is always different and enjoyable.

So even if you've watched every special he's released including Dear Jonah, Meticulously Ridiculous, and No Real Reason you're still getting something brand new.

Portland is a pretty easy trip from surrounding areas, which makes this one of those perfect summer date nights or friends nights out!
