Police Searching For Man Who Attempted to Lure Child into Car at Maine School Bus Stop
It can be a scary world out there for adults let alone our children. I think I speak for all of us when I say that, as parents, we would do unspeakable things to anybody that ever harmed our children.
I remember when we were kids growing up in the 80s and 90s and not having to worry about these things like we do today. We were 7 and 8 year olds out riding our bikes through the neighborhood with the other kids all day long. We wouldn't go in until mom flashed the porch light letting us know dinner was ready.
Now-a-days, I can't even fathom letting my young children out of my sight. So much has changed, or at least it seems like it has. Maybe because of the evolution of social media, we're just more privy to the threats in our society. Or, perhaps, those threats have grown vastly over the last couple of decades.
At any rate, it's paramount the parents keep a watchful eye at all times, because you never truly know where a potential predator could be lurking.
According to a news story published by WGME 13, the Falmouth Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying the driver of a white SUV that they say pulled up to a bus stop on Gray Road, near Hurricane Road, and attempted to lure a child into his car as they were getting off the bus.
Fortunately, that child refused the offer and left the area, as did the driver of the white SUV.
WGME reports that the Falmouth Police Department is currently investigating this situation. They're also asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact Detective Mathew Yeaton at myeaton@falmouthme.org or by phone, (207) 781-2300.
