A Maine Sheriff's Office was taking no chances when they opted to evacuate the entire building following reports of a bomb threat on Saturday.

According to an article from WGME 13, the Oxford County Regional Communications Center received a bomb threat on Saturday morning just before 11 am. Deputies from the Sheriff's Office as well as other agencies responded to the scene.

As a precaution, the District Attorney's Office, the courthouse and the Oxford County Sheriff's Office were all evacuated following reports of the threat.

WGME goes on to say that the Maine State Police Bomb Team did a sweep of the entire are looking for any explosives that may have been planted.

At about 4 pm Saturday afternoon, it was determined that the area was safe and that the bomb threat did not have any provable credibility.

Though the incident is still being investigated, preliminary findings indicate that the initial phone call with the bomb threat may have come in to the Oxford County Regional Comms Center via Pennsylvania.
