Pride’s Corner Drive-In in Westbrook, Maine Goes One Step Further with the Theme on Their Marquee

When last we left Pride's Corner Drive-In theater, they had pulled off the perfectly paired double feature for last week's Friday through Sunday double feature. On the really big screen those nights were two movies whose titles were just a name of a woman.

Babrie was the first feature of the night and a movie I never would have expected to gross nearly $400 million as of this writing. It's currently the second highest-grossing film of 2023 behind Super Mario Bros.

Tammy was the second feature of the night. It's the film that stars Melissa McCarthy as the exact opposite of Barbie and it grossed $100 million over its run in 2014.

When you put the names Barbie and Tammy up on your marquee, you get a lot of people like me, who drive by Pride's Corner Drive-In every day, that look at the sign and say, "I see what you did there."

Well, the people at Pride's Corner Drive-in said, "Hold my popcorn," and took the marquee to level three with what appeared on the marquee on Wednesday of this week.

The double feature was still going on, but a new movie would be shown starting Friday and it too is a woman's name, though Meg is no woman.

Barbie, Tammy and Meg. Sounds like a band name doesn't it?

The sign was only there for a day or so, but it was nice to see Pride's Corner keep this fun thing going.

The list goes on and on.
