According to WABI TV 5, a one-of-its kind center has opened in the State's capital and aims to help those that have struggled with and/or been affected by both addiction and mass incarceration.

For people that are recovering from addiction or incarceration, the center provides multiple resources to assist people who may be searching for a job, housing, or just need a place to talk about their experiences in a safe place.

The Augusta Recovery & Re-Entry Center is located at 2 Bangor Street and had its grand opening over the weekend. Anyone looking to contact the center can do so by calling 207-226-3438, visiting their website, or by emailing Leadership@TheARRC.org.

Kelly Johnson, of the Augusta Recovery & Re-Entry Center, told WABI TV 5,

“We currently have numerous support groups, recovery pathway support groups, and support groups for loved ones impacted by addiction and mass incarceration. In the future we plan to have healing trauma, domestic violence support groups, mental health, first aid, Narcan trainings and distribution.”
