Single Vehicle Crash in Augusta, Maine Sends Two Teens to Hospital

According to a press release from the Augusta, Maine Police Department, multiple teen boys were taken to an area hospital on Friday afternoon following a single vehicle crash.

Deputy Chief, Kevin Lully, reports that the crash happened at about 2pm on Friday afternoon near the intersection of South Belfast Avenue (Rt 105, and the entrance to the Hatch Hill Landfill (Hatch Hill Road).

Lully reported that the driver, a 16-year-old male, went off the road near Hatch Hill and struck a tree after going off the road. The driver had a passenger with him at the time identified as a 14-year-old male.

Augusta Police report that both teens were taken to Maine General Medical Center in Augusta from the scene of the crash. The boys were both reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.

Lully went on to say that Augusta Police, along with Augusta Fire and Maine State Police responded to the scene of the crash on Friday afternoon. Additionally, a crash reconstructionist from the Maine State Police responded to investigate what led to the vehicle going off the road.
