In 2015- Likely thanks to Taylor Swift, Apple Music revised their payment policy that was allowing users to get a 3-month free trial without the artists being compensated for the streams. Tay-Tay withheld her then-new album, "1985" and wrote an open letter to Apple Music saying, "We don't ask you for free iPhones. Please don't ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation."
